Overcoming Challenges to Save Lives

Experience a Day with MASA

Whether it’s landing a helicopter in a remote jungle to airlift a traveler who has had a massive heart attack, or flying an airplane into a pitch-black airstrip lit only by car headlights to save a newborn with Spina Bifada, MASA’s medically staffed aircraft is on stand-by to help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

MASA’s almost 1,000,000 members live and travel throughout the world. Though they don’t expect trouble, in just one moment, a life-threatening emergency can happen, and expert assistance is critical. It is MASA’s mission to provide life-saving air medical services to members while they are away from home on vacation, or traveling to exotic locations.

With more than 34 years in the business, MASA is the industry leader, not because its visionary and founder Mr. Frank M. Halley created this service or because it has the most members, but because its services and benefits are unequaled, and it all begins with a single toll-free phone call, with the traveler’s name and membership number, for MASA to spring into action.

Immediately, the perfect plan and the right crew are created to attend to the member. The aircraft takes off with equipment suited to the emergency, and the member who has suffered the illness or injury is airlifted to the best facility for their care. Should the patient and treating physician determine that recuperation near home is better, MASA will provide that air transportation as well.

MASA will arrange for the member’s spouse, family member or companion to accompany the individual in flight, and will return, accompanied by a qualified attendant, any minor children or grandchildren in the party to the commercial airport nearest their residence. If the hospitalization is seven days or longer, MASA will even transport another family to the location where the member is hospitalized.

Health insurance coverage simply does not provide these services. It does not cover the return of a policyholder and spouse back home by air ambulance transport or commercial carrier after hospitalization, and that cost can be as much as $25,000 paid in advance. It also does not cover the return of a car, trailer or RV back home from the emergency site, escort minor children, or return mortal remains.

Becoming a member is easy. You can save your life or a family member’s life for less than $1 a day! Call 800-643-9023 for more information and to start the application process. Being a member ensures peace of mind. Member’s daughter, Melissa Abbott said, “MASA’s team was kind, considerate and patient with all of us throughout our traumatic family crisis. We are convinced that if it were not for MASA’s diligence in ensuring my father’s health, he would not be with us today. We are grateful beyond words.”
